About Me
My Journey &
My Heart
From student to therapist to supervisor—a path guided by faith and a passion for healing.

The Story Behind the Calling
My journey into counseling began at Liberty University, where I earned both my Bachelor's of Science in the Psychology of Counseling & Research and my Master's of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy. It was there that my passion for understanding people—their stories, their struggles, and their potential for growth—truly took root.
In 2022, I founded Equalize Counseling & Consulting with a dual mission: to help clients find healing and learn the skills necessary to be better prepared for what life brings, and to train up and equip new therapists for both their clinical work and their professional development.
Why "Equalize"?
The name "Equalize" comes from my love of scuba diving—specifically the practice of equalizing to adjust to pressure changes underwater. Just as divers must equalize to navigate the depths safely, I believe we all need tools to adjust to life's pressures. This philosophy guides everything I do: helping people Thrive (equalize emotions), Heal (reduce past pressures), and Grow (gain insight for the future).

My Approach
I describe my approach as eclectic and integrative. I'm primarily guided by systemic, cognitive, dialectical, and strength-based approaches—but I believe in meeting each person where they are and adapting to what they need.
Whether I'm working with a client in therapy or a supervisee developing their clinical skills, my goal is always the same: to help them Thrive (equalize emotions), Heal (reduce past pressures), and Grow (gain insight for the future).
Rooted in Faith
My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I believe that God has called me to this work— to counsel, to teach, to equip, and to serve. This site is an extension of that calling: a space where clinical excellence meets spiritual growth.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
— Proverbs 3:5-6
